Red Chris Transmission Line

Scope

Owner’s Engineer for the design, construction, completion, and commissioning of the Red Chris Mine Transmission Line. This 16km new 287kV single circuit transmission line starts at the BC Hydro Tatogga substation and travels to the Red Chris Mine substation.

The line was built on wood pole structures. This line traversed terrain varying from flat lands to mountains at 1500m above sea level. Helicopter construction was used for material transport and line pulling.

Note: We were brought on to save a failing project ($30M over budget and 6 months late before we started). In 12 months we recovered 3 months of schedule.
